M3 - Health Law

Third year students, once a month for three months, Friday 10:00-10:50 July-September.

This unit aims to increase "legal literacy" by introducing basic health law concepts and reducing unnecessary fears about the law's regulation of students' future medical practice. Through readings, lecture and discussions, students learn how to spot underlying legal issues that should affect their medical decision making, analyze simple legal issues on their own, and obtain help integrating complex medico-legal issues into practice.

The unit director is Katie Watson, JD (k-watson@northwestern.edu, 312-503-1675).
